  • 1 1/4 cups (150g) all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour blend)
  • About 36 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped (milk or dark chocolate)
  • Optional: pinch of salt if peanut butter is unsalted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  2. Cream together 1/2 cup softened unsalted butter, 1 cup granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup packed brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  3. Mix in 1 cup creamy peanut butter until fully combined. Beat in 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and a pinch of salt if using. Gradually add to wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  5. Scoop dough into tablespoon-sized balls (about 1 inch diameter). Roll each ball in granulated sugar.
  6. Place dough balls 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets. Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges set but centers are soft.
  7. Remove cookies from oven and immediately press one unwrapped chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
  8. Let cookies cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
