strawberry limeade slushie recipe - featured image

A quick and easy homemade strawberry limeade slushie that perfectly balances sweet strawberries and tangy lime juice, ideal for hot summer days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • Juice of 23 medium limes (about 3 tablespoons or 45 ml)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (can substitute with honey or agave syrup)
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • Optional: a handful of fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Rinse and hull about 2 cups (around 300 grams) of fresh strawberries. Halve or quarter larger berries for easier blending.
  2. Juice 2-3 medium limes (approximately 3 tablespoons or 45 ml of juice), removing any seeds.
  3. In a blender, combine strawberries, fresh lime juice, 1/4 cup (50 grams) granulated sugar, and 1 cup (240 ml) cold water. Blend on medium speed for about 30 seconds until sugar dissolves and mixture is smooth.
  4. Add 2 cups (about 300 grams) of ice cubes. Pulse several times, then blend continuously until slushie consistency is reached (about 1-2 minutes).
  5. Check texture; if too thick, add a splash of water and blend briefly. If too thin, add more ice cubes and pulse.
  6. If using, add a handful of fresh mint leaves and pulse once or twice to mix gently.
  7. Pour into chilled glasses, garnish with lime wedge or mint sprig, and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh, organic strawberries for best flavor. Frozen strawberries can be used if thawed slightly before blending. Avoid overblending to maintain slushie texture. Serve immediately for best icy consistency. Adjust sugar to taste or substitute with natural sweeteners like honey, stevia, or monk fruit.
