Refreshing Strawberry Champagne Cocktail

strawberry champagne cocktail - featured image

A light, elegant cocktail combining fresh strawberries, champagne, and a hint of citrus for a refreshing and bubbly party drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 68 medium fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) champagne or sparkling wine, chilled (brut style recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (about half a lemon)
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water, dissolved)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse and hull 6-8 ripe strawberries, then cut them in half. Place them in a mixing glass or small pitcher.
  2. Using a muddler, gently press the strawberries 8-10 times to crush them and release their juice without pulverizing.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of simple syrup. Stir gently to combine.
  4. If desired, chill champagne flutes in the fridge or fill with ice water to chill while preparing the cocktail.
  5. Slowly pour chilled champagne (about 4-5 ounces or 120-150 ml per glass) into the strawberry mixture. Stir gently once or twice to mix without losing bubbles.
  6. Serve immediately. Optionally strain the mixture into chilled flutes for a clearer drink or leave strawberry bits for texture. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig and a slice of strawberry on the rim.

Notes

Muddle strawberries gently to avoid a cloudy drink. Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor. Pour champagne slowly to prevent overflow. Chill glasses for a crisp, refreshing cocktail. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute champagne with sparkling water or non-alcoholic sparkling wine.
