A quick and easy recipe for honey garlic pork chops that delivers sweet and savory flavors perfect for weeknight dinners. Ready in under 30 minutes with simple pantry ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless pork chops, about 1-inch thick (center-cut preferred)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper. (About 5 minutes)
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and water until smooth. Set aside. (About 3 minutes)
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add pork chops and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Avoid moving them too much to develop a crust. (Total 8 minutes)
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the pork chops in the pan. Add 1 tablespoon butter. Spoon the sauce over the chops as it simmers and thickens, about 3-5 minutes, until glossy and clinging to the meat.
  5. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 145Β°F (63Β°C). Remove from heat and let the chops rest for 3-5 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Pat pork chops dry before seasoning to get a golden crust. Keep heat moderate when simmering sauce to prevent burning. If sauce thickens too fast, add a splash of water. Bone-in pork chops can be used but require longer cooking time. For gluten-free, substitute soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos. For dairy-free, omit butter or use plant-based alternative.
