Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (90g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (or almond milk)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour, heat-treated
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (175g) mini chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan. Line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until combined. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then fold gently until no dry streaks remain. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy. Mix in milk and vanilla extract. Gradually add the heat-treated flour and salt, stirring until fully combined. Fold in mini chocolate chips. Spread the cookie dough evenly over the cooled brownie layer.
  4. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and butter in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Pour the melted chocolate over the cookie dough layer and spread evenly.
  5. Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to set. Once firm, remove from the pan, slice into squares or rectangles, and enjoy!

Notes

Ensure the brownie layer is completely cooled before adding the cookie dough to prevent melting. Heat-treat the flour for the cookie dough layer to make it safe to eat raw. Chill the dessert before slicing for clean edges.
