A rich and indulgent twist on the classic pecan pie, featuring gooey chocolate filling, crunchy pecans, and a flaky crust. Perfect for holidays or any special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans, whole or halved

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your pie pan lightly with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Roll out your pie crust and gently press it into the pie pan. Trim the edges and crimp them for a decorative touch. Chill the crust in the fridge while you prepare the filling.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, corn syrup, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. This should take about 2 minutes.
  4. In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Start with 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until fully melted and glossy. Let it cool slightly.
  5. Gradually pour the melted chocolate into the filling mixture while whisking. This ensures the chocolate incorporates evenly and doesn’t cook the eggs.
  6. Spread the pecans evenly over the bottom of the chilled pie crust. Pour the chocolate filling over the pecans, ensuring they’re covered completely.
  7. Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly jiggly. The edges will puff up, and the filling will darken beautifully.
  8. Let the pie cool completely before slicing. This allows the filling to set properly, ensuring clean slices.

Notes

[‘Chill the pie crust to prevent shrinking during baking.’, ‘Toast the pecans briefly in a dry skillet to enhance their flavor.’, ‘Use room temperature eggs for smoother blending.’, ‘Place the pie pan on a baking sheet to catch any spills.’, ‘Let the pie cool completely for clean slices.’]
