These bite-sized treats combine gooey caramel, cinnamon-spiced apples, and buttery dough for the ultimate comfort dessert. Perfect for cozy afternoons or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 package refrigerated biscuit dough (8-count)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 soft caramel candies or 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (optional topping)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, toss the diced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  3. Flatten each biscuit into a 4-inch circle using a rolling pin or your hands.
  4. Place about 1 tablespoon of the apple filling in the center of each dough circle. Add one caramel candy or a drizzle of caramel sauce on top of the apples.
  5. Carefully fold the edges of the dough around the filling, pinching to seal tightly. Roll gently to form a smooth ball.
  6. Place the pie bombs seam-side down on the baking sheet. Brush each bomb with melted butter.
  7. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle over the buttered bombs (optional).
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
  9. Let the pie bombs cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a cooling rack. Serve warm.

Notes

[‘To avoid a soggy filling, dice apples small and toss them with cornstarch.’, ‘Don’t overfill the dough to keep the bombs sealed and intact.’, ‘Lightly flour your surface or hands if the dough feels sticky.’, ‘Pinch the dough tightly when sealing to avoid leaks during baking.’, ‘For an extra gooey center, drizzle additional caramel sauce inside before sealing.’]
