  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
  • 4 ounces white chocolate chips (optional, for drizzling)
  • Sprinkles or crushed candy canes (optional, for decoration)
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable or coconut oil (optional, to thin chocolate)
  • Wax paper or parchment paper (for setting)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with wax or parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt 12 oz of semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each until smooth. Optionally stir in 1 teaspoon vegetable or coconut oil to thin the chocolate.
  3. Using tongs or a fork, dip each mini pretzel into the melted chocolate, coating fully but not excessively. Let excess chocolate drip off.
  4. Place each dipped pretzel on the prepared baking sheet in a heart shape or use heart-shaped pretzels.
  5. Optional: Melt 4 oz white chocolate chips using the same method, transfer to a piping or zip-top bag, snip a tiny corner, and drizzle over the dipped pretzels.
  6. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle sprinkles or crushed candy canes for decoration.
  7. Allow the chocolate covered pretzel hearts to set at room temperature for about 30 minutes or refrigerate for 15 minutes to set faster.
  8. Store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge for up to one week.

Notes

Stir chocolate often while melting to prevent burning. Adding a teaspoon of oil thins the chocolate for easier dipping and a glossy finish. Let chocolate cool slightly before dipping to avoid sliding off. Store in airtight container; bring to room temperature before serving if refrigerated.
