Juicy fresh strawberries dipped in glossy, no sugar added dark chocolate for a wholesome, antioxidant-rich treat. Perfect for gifting, celebrations, or a guilt-free dessert that’s quick, easy, and crowd-pleasing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (about 16 ounces) fresh strawberries, washed and thoroughly dried
  • 7 ounces no sugar added dark chocolate chips (such as Lily’s or Lakanto)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for shine)
  • Pinch finishing salt (such as Maldon sea salt flakes, optional)
  • 2 tablespoons freeze-dried raspberries or strawberries, crushed (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened shredded coconut (optional)
  • Natural food coloring or edible glitter (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Rinse strawberries gently under cool water and pat dry thoroughly with paper towels. Set aside to air dry.
  2. Add dark chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and glossy (about 1–2 minutes total). Alternatively, melt chocolate over a double boiler. Optional: Stir in coconut oil for extra shine.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. Prepare toppings in small bowls.
  4. Hold each strawberry by the stem or use a fork/skewer. Dip into melted chocolate, swirling to coat about 3/4 of the berry. Let excess chocolate drip off. Place dipped berries on the lined baking sheet.
  5. Sprinkle with finishing salt, freeze-dried raspberries, coconut, or edible glitter while chocolate is still wet. Drizzle with extra chocolate if desired.
  6. Let strawberries sit at room temperature for 15 minutes, or refrigerate for 10–15 minutes until chocolate is firm.
  7. Serve immediately or transfer to an airtight container. If stacking, layer parchment between berries to prevent sticking.

Notes

Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing. Use room temperature berries for best results. Add toppings while chocolate is wet for best adhesion. For vegan or dairy-free, use plant-based chocolate. Store in a single layer in the fridge for up to 2 days, or freeze for longer storage.
