A simple and flavorful slow cooker ham recipe with a sweet and tangy honey-pineapple glaze, perfect for holiday meals or any comforting family feast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 45 pounds bone-in ham (spiral-cut preferred)
  • 1 can (20 oz) canned pineapple rings, juice reserved
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glaze: In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, cinnamon (if using), garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Lightly spray the inside of the slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray or brush with a little oil to prevent sticking.
  3. Place the ham cut-side down into the slow cooker, ensuring it fits snugly.
  4. Arrange pineapple rings over the top of the ham, tucking a few slices inside the cavity if available.
  5. Pour the reserved pineapple juice over and around the ham.
  6. Brush the honey glaze generously all over the ham and pineapple rings, reserving some glaze for basting if desired.
  7. Cover and cook on LOW for 4-6 hours, until the ham is heated through and tender (internal temperature of 140°F/60°C).
  8. Baste the ham every 2 hours with glaze and cooking juices to keep it moist and flavorful.
  9. Once cooked, remove the ham from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  10. Slice the ham, arrange with pineapple rings, and spoon some cooking juices over the top before serving.

Notes

If glaze is too thin, simmer cooking juices gently to thicken before serving. Use a meat thermometer to check for 140°F internal temperature to avoid overcooking. Baste every 2 hours for best flavor and moisture. Can substitute honey with maple syrup or brown sugar with coconut sugar for variations. Fresh pineapple can be used instead of canned for a fresher zing.
