These pork chops are coated in a crunchy panko crust, air fried to perfection, and finished with a sticky honey garlic glaze. Ready in under 30 minutes, they’re a crowd-pleasing comfort food for busy weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1-inch thick, 11.25 lbs total)
  • Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced (or 1 tablespoon jarred minced garlic)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Cooking spray or olive oil (for greasing air fryer basket and spraying chops)

Instructions

  1. Pat pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper. Let sit for 5 minutes at room temperature.
  2. Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder.
  3. Dredge each pork chop in flour, shaking off excess. Dip in beaten egg, then press firmly into panko mixture until fully coated.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 400°F for 4 minutes. Lightly spray basket with cooking spray or brush with olive oil.
  5. Arrange pork chops in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not crowd; cook in batches if needed.
  6. Air fry for 10 minutes, flip each chop, then cook another 8–10 minutes until golden brown and an instant-read thermometer reads 145°F in the thickest part.
  7. While chops cook, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Stir in honey and soy sauce; simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
  8. Brush or spoon glaze generously over each cooked pork chop. Optionally, return to air fryer for 2 minutes to set the glaze.
  9. Let pork chops rest for 3–5 minutes before serving. For extra crunch, sprinkle more panko on top before glazing.

Notes

For gluten-free, use gluten-free panko and flour. For low-carb, substitute pork rinds or almond flour for breading. Double dredge for extra crunch. Don’t crowd the air fryer basket. Glaze after air frying to keep crust crispy. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
