A quick and easy creamy dip combining cream cheese, sour cream, sharp cheddar, and bacon, perfect for parties and snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) sour cream
  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 3 stalks green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 packet (about 1 tablespoon) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: pinch of smoked paprika or cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by leaving it at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and sour cream. Use a hand mixer on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and freshly ground black pepper. Mix until fully incorporated, about 1 minute. Add smoked paprika or cayenne if using.
  4. Gently fold in shredded sharp cheddar cheese and crumbled cooked bacon using a spatula.
  5. Stir in chopped green onions until evenly distributed.
  6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, ideally 2 hours, to let flavors meld and dip firm up.
  7. Before serving, give the dip a quick stir and transfer to a serving dish. Serve with chips, crackers, or fresh veggies.

Notes

Soften cream cheese well to avoid lumps. Chill dip for best flavor and texture. If too thick after chilling, stir in a teaspoon or two of milk or sour cream to loosen. Use turkey bacon or omit bacon for a lighter or vegetarian option. Variations include adding jalapeños for spice or using dairy-free alternatives for a vegan version.
