A quick and easy dessert combining tender pasta with a rich, creamy chocolate sauce and fresh strawberries for a unique and indulgent treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 oz (170 g) small pasta shapes like mini shells or elbow macaroni, cooked, drained and cooled
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
  • 4 oz (115 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (150 g) fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Optional garnish: fresh mint leaves or a sprinkle of cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Cook and prepare pasta: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add 6 oz (170 g) of small pasta shapes and cook according to package instructions, usually 7-9 minutes until al dente. Drain in a colander and rinse under cold water to stop cooking. Set aside to cool completely (about 10 minutes).
  2. Make the chocolate sauce: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream and 1 tbsp unsalted butter. Warm gently until the butter melts and the cream simmers lightly (do not boil). Remove from heat and add 4 oz (115 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips. Let sit for 2 minutes, then whisk until smooth and glossy. Stir in 2 tbsp powdered sugar and 1 tsp vanilla extract.
  3. Combine pasta and sauce: Transfer cooled pasta to a mixing bowl. Pour the warm chocolate sauce over the pasta, gently folding to coat every piece. The pasta should look glossy but not soggy — if the sauce feels too thick, add a splash of cream to loosen it.
  4. Add strawberries: Gently fold in 1 cup (150 g) sliced fresh strawberries. Taste a bite; if you want it sweeter, sprinkle a bit more powdered sugar and mix lightly.
  5. Chill or serve immediately: You can serve this creamy chocolate strawberry pasta dessert right away for a slightly warm treat or chill it for 30 minutes to let flavors meld and the sauce thicken a bit.
  6. Garnish and enjoy: Before serving, add a sprig of fresh mint or dust lightly with cocoa powder for a pretty finish.

Notes

Use small pasta shapes like mini shells or elbow macaroni for best texture. Rinse pasta with cold water after cooking to stop cooking and prevent sogginess. Warm cream gently to avoid seizing chocolate. Fold strawberries gently to keep them intact. Can be served warm or chilled. For dairy-free, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream and use dairy-free chocolate chips. For gluten-free, use gluten-free pasta.
